How do I get started with The Dog Sitter?

Simple. Just call, text or e-mail me to schedule a "Meet and Greet" which is our initial in-home consultation. I will come to your home, meet you and your pet(s), become familiar with your home and routine, and discuss all pertinent information about your pets needs.

What is your service area?

My service area is limited to Guilford and Branford.

Are you insured?

Yes. I am insured through Pet Care Insurance.

​

Are you certified in Pet CPR & First Aid

I completed a 3-hour didactic and hands-on skills training for Pet CPR & First Aid with PAWSNCLAWS911.COM.

Do you have references?

Yes. References are available upon request. You can also view my Testimonials page and my Google reviews.

What are your payment terms?

Payment is due when services are rendered and can be in the form of cash, check, or Venmo.

Do you charge a holiday fee?

Yes. I charge a holiday fee of $10 per visit on the following major holidays: Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

Do you charge a cancellation fee?

Yes, there is a same day cancellation fee. Any visits or walks cancelled the same day that the visit is scheduled will be charged in full.

 

Do you just care for dogs?

At this time, yes, I only care for dogs. 
 

How many dogs can you walk at once?

If you have multiple dogs, I can walk them together. I will not walk your dogs with anyone else’s dogs. My attention is focused on one client at a time.

Do you administer medications?

Yes. I can administer medication, including insulin injections, at no additional charge. Please have all medications and instructions available for our initial Meet and Greet.

I am leaving in two days and don't have time to meet you. Will you take care of my pets without meeting us?

No. For the safety of all involved, I require an initial consultation before taking care of your pets and home.

Will you board my dog in your home?

No. I do not board dogs in my home. However, I offer multiple visits through out the day and/or overnight stays.

​

My dog needs to go to the vet. Can you take him?

Yes. I offer a Pet Taxi service. I will bring your dog to the vet as well as the groomer and doggy day care. Trips can be one way or round trip. If you're short on time and need pet supplies, I can do that for you too!

What happens in severe weather?

Please have an emergency back up in place in the event that I am physically unable to reach your home due to impassable roads. Your pets’ health and well-being is my utmost concern and I will contact you as soon as possible to keep you informed of these events. This is pertaining to snow, ice, hurricanes, severe storms, etc.
